A talk page is a page used to dicuss the article in question (click the "dicussion" tab at the top of each page). They are used to ask questions and offer ideas for improvements about the entry.

Talk page users are encouraged to sign their names at the end of each of their postings using ~~~ for just their name and ~~~~ for their name and time (the latter is prefered). You can also simply click the signiture button at the top of the edit window.
